Quilt #12 for 2024 is a "Remembrance" quilt that apparently will be hung in a school. It is my customer's quilt and I quilted it on my BERNINA Q20 with Qmatics (computerized quilting) with the design Camelia which kinda looked like a graphic poppy. I was very happy with how it looked on the quilt. I think my customer was too. Have a great day! Showing and sharing the photos below are of a custom quilt I made for my niece and her new baby Emma. They are the culmination design wise of a few different ideas I have seen on Pinterest of Winnie the Pooh Quilts. My niece specifically wanted a Winnie the Pooh Quilt for her new baby as it was nostalgic from her childhood. The below ended up being an appliqué quilt with English paper pieces hexies (hand pieced) (right corner) and extensive heavy free motion quilting. Quilt was made on my BERNINA 350 SE and free motion quilted with ruler work on my BERNINA Q20 long arm machine. My niece said she loved it, Thank goodness!
I hope they cherish it for years to come. Just showing and sharing: the quilt below is a customer quilt and I was asked to do it "the way you think it should be done". I choose lines in the mountains and atmosphere or soft cloud like movement in the sky area. I call it a Mid Mod because the colours are reminiscent of that. I think the quilting achieved the mid mod look too. It really is called Twin Peaks and ironically it's for twin girls. Quilted on my BERNINA Q20 Long Arm with rulers and FMQ.
A Table Topper for all Seasons this week at www.quiltsocial.com Feb 19-23rd, I am talking about my original design and how to make it. I am calling this a Circle the Seasons Table Topper. Follow along all week as I show you how to make this and there is a free pattern for you to download. Make it using solids as I did or use patterned material. Bust through those winter blues with this inspiring project to dress up any shaped table. Happy Monday and Happy Family Day in Canada , maybe you'll have time to sew?

On Friday I was invited to demonstrate at the *NEW* and improved Creekbank Sewing ( Near Mount Forest, ON). This store just moved into a luxurious 8,000 square foot space, yep that's right 8,000 square feet! They hosted the BERNINA Joy of Sewing Event on Friday Dec 1, 2023.
My role was to show a short version of my usual trunk show and then to demo the fantastic potential of the BERNINA Qseries Long Arm Machines. See the samples in the photo below, thread painted tree, couched/chenille pillow and quilting demos. All the other staff and BERNINA Educators demoed the amazing potential of the domestic machines. If you have not yet had a chance to explore this new store the address is : 031385 Grey County Rd 14 Conn, ON N0G 1N0. Trust me it is more than worth the drive. If you have a group or bus trip - call them 519-323-2693, they are happy to assist customers in the store and welcome all visitors. Their customer service is on point! They are not an online quilt shop but welcome sewers, quilters and crafters alike to come on in and explore their beautiful selection of fabric, notions, threads, wool, embroidery supplies and soooooo much more. They have a huge classroom for classes and excellent instructors. There is always a sale area and beautiful locally made quilts for sale. If you're thinking about a new sewing machine? Creekbank is the place to go and they will carefully explain the feature of each machine. Creekbank has dedicated itself to BERNINA sewing machines and Q Series Long Arms and have 2 fantastic technicians to sewing machines. Ask me how I know this? Because they repair and service my machines! Below is a brief overview of the different activities that took place on Friday for the Joy of Sewing Event with over 40 wonderful customers in attendance. Special Thanks to Deb and Adrienne from BERNINA Canada for assisting with the machine demonstrations and of course all of the staff at Creekbank Sewing. Quilts # 23 & 24 for 2023 are two identical fish quilts quilted on my Q20 Long Arm Machine with custom wavy lines and spiral lines to depict motion in the ocean! They were fun to complete for my lovely customer Sue who also brought me a Timmies coffee when she picked them up and it was just the day I needed the caffein. Much appreciated Thank You Sue and thanks also for the continued business and quilts you bring to me. I appreciate all my customers of course, 😋
