I am so excited to announce that Quilter's Connection Magazine has published one of my newest pattern designs on the cover of their magazine for the "Summer" issue and thats not all!!!!!  Another of my designs is also published and in the magazine.

I joked with my daughters when I said:

"Does This Make Me A "COVER GIRL" ?  LOL!

Seriously! The cover quilt is called "Hot Summer Fun", page 10 and the one featured in the magazine on page 36 is called "Summer is Gardening"

I was asked to create a summer quilt with lettering and so I was totally thinking hot sun and fun summer activities with a modern vibe when designing the quilts for the magazine.  I hope you like both of them!

The magazine will be mailed out to subscribers very soon or you can purchase it at your local quilt shop.  Check out www.quiltersconnection.ca to find a store near you.

Also, see  the original story of how this came to be in this blog post here

So...... the first 5 people who can tell me what the primary "technique" is included in the quilt shown above on the cover, will get a free magazine!!

Please comment below and also give us your email address so we can contact you if you are the winner of this giveaway - we will contact you to mail it out to you.

Quilter's Connection Magazine is a great magazine for quilters by quilters, I encourage you to read all about it below or check it out for subscription information here

Pick Lots of Daisies- Baby Quilt Pattern

5/9/2016

I just had to share with you the very cute pictures of my little grand niece on her quilt that I made from my own baby quilt pattern "Pick Lots Of Daisies".

I know I am very biased, but I think Rilynn makes my quilt design look even better!

When I designed this quilt, I also thought of a message that I wanted to free motion quilt onto the centre of it.  There is a message included with the pattern that is all about the positive experiences of childhood and my wish for Rilynn.  The message says in the last sentence, "pick lots of daisies" .....hence the name for the pattern.

Isn't Rilynn adorable sitting on the quilt!

Have a great week everyone and Happy Monday

Listen "May" it is time for the sun to shine!☀️😊

_I am excited to announce that I now have 3 new projects and  new classes in Thread Painting.  Check out the Shop page to see the new patterns and the Teaching page as well!

If you look at the patterns in the shop page hover over the patterns and you can see the thread painting close up!

The patterns are available in PDF and hard copy format and ready to order.

These 3 patterns all describe in detail how to create free standing thread painted embroidered flowers to add to small quilts.

The patterns include detailed instructions, supplies required, a true photo of the flower and a design ready for you to trace and thread paint.

These patterns are also available from www.craftsy.com/search?query=quiltingintheloft.com in US$

The workshop demonstrates first hand how thread paint. Depending on your learning style this is a great way to learn.

It's a culmination of a lot of work, but a real labour of love.

The flowers are of course a Hibiscus Flower, A Water Lilly (& Lilly pads) and a Gaillardia Flower.

Have a great Thursday!

This week was one of those weeks where I got lots done but I felt like I was taking 2 steps forward and one sideways!
  • Some quilting business taken care of (I won't bore you with it)
  • I am also now  a www.patternspot designer check it out
  • I finished up some more baby items for an upcoming craft show. They are teething rings made of all natural wood and cotton ties with oh so soft minky on the back. You can untie the fabric and throw it in the wash. According to my niece and great nephew, babies love them! See pics below:

  • I finally finished the bag I am designing.
It's a smaller than a normal diaper bag (but bigger than a purse). This bag is meant for new mom's on the go.  It is lightweight, holds 2 bottles, has 5 pockets, a pacifier snap, a key fob and adjustable straps.  A sneak peek of it is below:

I hope you had a productive week and have a great weekend. Happy Friday!
