As promised in my first post for this blog, I have the picture of "Pathway to Progress". Above is the Art Quilt Commissioned by the City of Windsor that I completed and is hanging in the Ontario Works office at 400 City Hall- It is a completely original design. It represents women, men, youth, couples, culture, youth and children walking on the "Pathway to Progress" depicted also is paper pieced houses on the border representing the Housing Support Program. There is lush green foliage, flowers and leaves on the trees depicting renewal and growth. There are swarovski crystals, bright colours a sun and custom embroidered butterflies signifying hope.
The design and making of this quilt was a wonderful experience and I was honoured to make it while understanding that it expresses a very positive message about the Ontario Works office and what can be gained for the clients who seek support there.
