Hi, I just posted an article on the BERNINA International Blog here This article is really what I would consider an essential activity when you get a new machine, however most people don't stop to do it because they are stitching other stuff.😝 The article is entitled Sewing a Stitch Book With Decorative Stitches. I encourage you to make one for your machine! It was a fantastic experience for me and I am not yet finished, stay tuned also to Part 2. I show you how to get started , so have a look, you won't regret it and it's all freeeeeing and you will know your machine so much better! Also check out my YouTube Video Below, Happy Monday😊☀️🌷

Quilt #12 for 2024 is a "Remembrance" quilt that apparently will be hung in a school. It is my customer's quilt and I quilted it on my BERNINA Q20 with Qmatics (computerized quilting) with the design Camelia which kinda looked like a graphic poppy. I was very happy with how it looked on the quilt. I think my customer was too. Have a great day! Quilt #11 for 2024 is a Viking Ship Quilt made by my customer Wendy, I ended up using my Qmatic (computerized designs) on my BERNINA Q20 long arm, the ruler foot #96 and cup clip and quilted spirals and waves in keeping with the ocean theme. All the colours made it fun to look at & to quilt. Have a look at this quilt below:
Just showing and sharing: Quilt #10 for 2024 "confetti quilt" made by my customer Ruth and quilted on my BERNINA Q20 Long Arm with Qmatic in a fern pattern, very much suited the backing and some of the motifs on the front. Fun to explore designs in Qmatic and find just the right one for the quilt.
Just showing and sharing: the quilt below is a customer quilt and I was asked to do it "the way you think it should be done". I choose lines in the mountains and atmosphere or soft cloud like movement in the sky area. I call it a Mid Mod because the colours are reminiscent of that. I think the quilting achieved the mid mod look too. It really is called Twin Peaks and ironically it's for twin girls. Quilted on my BERNINA Q20 Long Arm with rulers and FMQ.

I seem to have been receiving a lot of baby quilts to long arm for others recently. It's funny, I'll get very large quilts all at once or smaller ones and it seems to go in cycles that way. The next 3 I will show below are quilts # 5, 6 & 7 for 2024. All with pantograph quilting with the exception of the HELEN quilt which was panto'd (edge to edge quilted) just before the name Helen. I then I reduced the size of the daisy motif and free motion quilted around the word and stitched in the ditch around the flowers and the white section for the name. I wanted to show off the work on the appliqué. Sometimes it's a refreshing break to get some smaller quilts that I can complete quickly. All of these quilts were completed on my BERNINA Q20 with Qmatic. All of these are customer quilts. Have a great Saturday and a lovely weekend!🙂☀️
As many of you know just before Christmas I took delivery & install of the Qmatic (Computer) System for my BERNINA Q20 Long Arm Machine. It's a big deal for me because I love to free motion quilt and love the quality of stitching that I get with the computerized quilting. I am in love and simply amazed by this new addition/improvement to my already awesome Q20 Long Arm. I have finished 4 quilts all ready since Jan 1 and I am showing you them below. I am feeling very comfortable with Edge to Edge Quilting now and moving on to block quilting with my 5th quilt, stay tuned for a picture of that one. The first 2 are customer quilts and the second 2 are UFO's I am finally completing and now on to the binding! All completed with Edge to Edge/Pantograph Designs. I hope you have a wonderful January!

On Friday I was invited to demonstrate at the *NEW* and improved Creekbank Sewing ( Near Mount Forest, ON). This store just moved into a luxurious 8,000 square foot space, yep that's right 8,000 square feet! They hosted the BERNINA Joy of Sewing Event on Friday Dec 1, 2023.
My role was to show a short version of my usual trunk show and then to demo the fantastic potential of the BERNINA Qseries Long Arm Machines. See the samples in the photo below, thread painted tree, couched/chenille pillow and quilting demos. All the other staff and BERNINA Educators demoed the amazing potential of the domestic machines. If you have not yet had a chance to explore this new store the address is : 031385 Grey County Rd 14 Conn, ON N0G 1N0. Trust me it is more than worth the drive. If you have a group or bus trip - call them 519-323-2693, they are happy to assist customers in the store and welcome all visitors. Their customer service is on point! They are not an online quilt shop but welcome sewers, quilters and crafters alike to come on in and explore their beautiful selection of fabric, notions, threads, wool, embroidery supplies and soooooo much more. They have a huge classroom for classes and excellent instructors. There is always a sale area and beautiful locally made quilts for sale. If you're thinking about a new sewing machine? Creekbank is the place to go and they will carefully explain the feature of each machine. Creekbank has dedicated itself to BERNINA sewing machines and Q Series Long Arms and have 2 fantastic technicians to sewing machines. Ask me how I know this? Because they repair and service my machines! Below is a brief overview of the different activities that took place on Friday for the Joy of Sewing Event with over 40 wonderful customers in attendance. Special Thanks to Deb and Adrienne from BERNINA Canada for assisting with the machine demonstrations and of course all of the staff at Creekbank Sewing. |
