Oh yes they work beautifully but... you should use either "Crayola" or "Prang" crayons.
Why?... because of the intensity of colour and saturation. I have tried cheaper brands and they don't work as well. I promised some recent trunk show attendees that I would post what I use. Please see photos and links to acquire these below:
