Using dollar store letters to decorate my quilting and sewing studio! Affordable DIY
The above is not my studio, but these cute letters will be in my studio once it is done. I will be sure to share photos at a later date!

I will have a designated long arm quilting area where I will use the word "quilt" and a designated studio sewing area where I will use the word "sew".  I purchased the wood letters at the "Dollar Store and More" for $1.25 each, they are 6 inch tall letters.  I also purchased some basic acrylic paints and used a sharpie marker (from home) and paint brushes (also from the $ store), so all in this project cost me a whopping $24.01 taxes included.

My studio is planned to be painted white in order to maximize light and clarity as it is in a loft.   These letters and the bulletin boards from last tuesdays blog post (have a look at January 12, 2016) these will be my "pops" of colour.

Check out how I did it below:

All the supplies, wax paper to paint on, paint brushes, paints and letters.... oh yes and a sharpie marker!

These letters have a handy key hole opening for hanging once painted

After the paint has dried, add stitches to the edge of the letters with a sharpie permanent marker

The E after "stitching"- to me it looks brighter!
