I have been busy lately with long arm work and visitors! My daughter (Katie) and son in law (Chad) and my baby new grandson (Eli) were just here from BC. There was a family baby shower for them that I assisted with and of course I made some cookies. Who doesn't love cookies!! I just thought decorated ones would be fun and add to the baby shower theme. The recipe is the same as my "Quilt Cookies" blog post and the recipe is available here . Check out the baby faces below:
So to decorate these cookies, I first outlined and then flooded the cookies with 1/3 with blue royal icing and 2/3 peach (I used copper Wilton Colour mixed with white for the face). I then used Wilton edible markers for the black details on the face. I dry brushed a bit of pink colour Wilton gel colour for the blush on the cheeks. I used a writing tip to add the curls of white on the hat. Really the easiest decorated cookies I have ever made.

Really these cookies are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination!!!! The recipe for the cookies is good, a not so sweet sugar cookie recipe that makes the added icing enjoyable to eat .
I think it's important in life not to overlook small details and make an effort for those you love! I had a lot of fun making these and I hope you do too!! Share a picture if you make some by contacting us please, we are always happy to share. Happy Monday ❤️
