Happy New Year #gettingquiltsdonein2021

Hi to all my followers, fellow students from classes, friends and family.  Happy New Year to you all.  Here in Ontario we are in a lock-down with Covid 19 and that means not going anywhere, staying home and avoiding contact with people.  It also means my hubby is working for home as am I (no change there) except for no travelling for teaching/trunk shows and no quilt shopping (yikes).  No fun but I also know how important it is to get this pandemic under control.
I  am working at a snails pace 1) because I have tendonitis in my shoulder and am forced to slow down and
2) I think the pandemic has affected my motivation, go figure.

I have lot's of quilts in a lineup to be long arm quilted but it's more of a turtle and a hare situation.  I will get them done slowly, but they will get done eventually.  I am also working on some custom quilts and research for upcoming work.
I wanted to let you all know I started a new instagram hashtag and it's #gettingquiltsdonein2021 - feel free to use this hashtag and show us all what you are getting done.
My work is going there  when I post quilty stuff on instagram and I would love to see yours :)

Below are some pics of current work, not all complete but in progress:

BOM Border Creek Station 2021

I am working on this BOM from Border Creek Station 2021 and allowing myself to have "Happy Mondays" instead of "blue mondays" by starting off the week with a little piecing (2 blocks) just for me.  The colourful fabric is my inspiration point and the rest of the blocks are meant to go with the colourful fabric, hopefully it will bust through some of my scraps!

Baby Boy Memory Quilt
(Commissioned)

I am making the below baby quilt for a customer as a custom commissioned piece.  The crazy patched blocks are from stretchy onezies and baby clothing stabilized.  I am showing it in progress.  It will evolve based on a theme I was asked to incorporate by my customer.  I don't normally do custom quilts ( I have done many in the past) for people but had a weak moment and said yes.

2 1/2" sashing added

Snow flake appliques added to be stitched down. Are you sensing a theme?
That's it for now, I will post more as I go along.
Wishing you  a great , healthy and productive 2021
❤️
