Brought to you by quiltingintheloft.com
This new project was a result of a Laura Wasilowski workshop from artfabrik.com - the Waterloo Region Quilt Guild brought Laura to our area.
I am calling it "leafing out" because really, I was branching out of my comfort zone and as it is a leaf, I cannot call it "branching out". The project involved fusing fabric before you place a pattern on it, fusing raw edge hand dyed fabric pieces and adding your own cotton embroidery stitches to it. Did I mention you had to design your leaf first?! We then upholstered it to timtex with irregular edges and put a "random act of fusing" on the back. It was a lot of fun and made me stretch my creative skills and imagination. This will hang in my overly white bathroom to bring some colour to it. I encourage everyone to think outside of the box and stretch your creativity regularly and I highly recommend this workshop!
