First of all to my blog followers, I apologize! I have been so busy with events (trunk shows), samples and teaching that my blog has been hit by a writers block! The block consisted of time spent elsewhere (not literal writers block). I thought today, I would show you a shameless photo montage of what I have been up to so that you understand my predicament an inability to post!!! Recently, I have pieced and custom quilted one large quilt (photo not available sorry :( Top Secret!). I also custom quilted another, see a picture of one of the custom quilted second quilt below (Carpenters Star) lovingly pieced by my customer Teresa: Also, I designed, pieced and quilted 2 baby quilts and wrote up the pattern "Featuring Baby". The pattern is available here. See pics below: I just completed custom quilting a "Featuring Baby Quilt" completed by a good friend of mine Joan. She did a fantastic job of selecting fabrics and sewing up the quilt top. See a photo of the quilt she completed below: I showed my quilts in a Trunk Show at The Waterloo County Quilters Guild March 15th I was also recently involved in testing Westalee Rulers for Hummingbird Sewing in Barrie and spent some time understanding and working with them. I made a sampler quilt with the rulers and combined my own free motion designs. This culminated in a Trunk Show of all my work, a "Free Motion Quilting Extravaganza" and demo of the Westalee Rulers. The staff and customers there are fantastic and an enthusiastic quilting community! These rulers are great tools for domestic machine quilters! Available now at Hummingird Sewing in Barrie, Ontario. Pop into the store and you will see my Westalee sampler quilt. See Photos of the event below: I also just recently (last week) completed a new teaching sample for my free motion class. It is a table runner with different free motion quilting designs in each block. It is currently on display at Hummingbird Sewing. See the photos of the front and back of the runner below: Need a teacher to teach free motion quilting for your group or event? Feel free to contact me here Recent stitching group day in my loft studio! We attempted to make woven fabric baskets! See photos below: My project will have to be posted at a later date once it is done - It is a WIP, Work in Progress! And.... in addition to the 10 hot pads I made for a ladies group I belong to - see below: I had to make 6 more!!! See below: Download the free maple leaf appliqué only pattern here Oh yah, I almost forgot, I also polished up one of my patterns this month to be published soon in a magazine......!!! Exciting news for me and you will have to check back often to see what this is all about!! March is almost done and let me tell you it was an ambitious, crazy, fast paced, hard working March for sure!
Don't get me wrong, I love what I do but..... now that I have all this work out of the way, I hope to post more info on my blog and explore some new projects. Stay tuned and enjoy your spring days! 😊🌱
