Today I am feeling very inspired! I just finished watching Lola Jenkins' Thread Art on www.craftsy.com.

Most of you who know me, know that thread painting is a passion of mine.  I decided that I wanted to branch out however and learn some new skills and techniques from someone else's perspective.  I learned a lot from this class!

Lola specializes in black line thread art quilts where she outlines portraiture, figure drawings and copyright free floral designs onto cotton and then adds colour to them.  See a sample of her work below, so lovely:

Lola is very effective at discussing her tools and supplies. choosing a design, utilizing technology to edit, tracing her portrait and floral designs, stitching out the designs and adding colour, dimension and quilting.

At the end of the 11 lesson class she shows a gallery of her work and this is very inspiring. This class was awesome!!  She also shows how to effectively colour in and outline an eye which turned out simply beautiful. I don't know about anyone else but I think an eye would be hard to colour in and she breaks it down to a very achievable method  even  for a non-artist.

Yes I am a proud Craftsy affiliate! , I am confident about recommending this class because I have watched all 11 lessons and feel it is very informative and would support my followers to reach their potential. Yes www.craftsy.com does compensate me for encouraging my followers to enrol in classes. Please feel free to click on my affiliate link to see about this class here

The Craftsy platform for classes is amazing as it is an interactive  video platform and typically shows an outline of all the lessons you will learn, gives you class materials and resources, a place for notes, a gallery of other students projects, allows you a place to ask questions and see discussions that are going on about the class as you are watching it.

The classes are very affordable (some are even FREE) and there are also several new quilting classes on sale at 50% off this weekend only!  Starting at only 14.99! Offer ends at 11:59 PM MT on January 18, 2016.

Happy Friday Everyone, I hope you have a great weekend!
