Summer Blooms and Reaching for the Sun - Applique workshop

Reaching for the Sun! Pattern from 4th and 6th Designs- called Summer Blooms- these flowers are so big I had to call my quilt "Reaching for the Sun"- Machine appliquéd with a tiny monofilament zig zag and densely machine quilted.

Below are two quilts I have completed for fall workshops and a summer workshop in Kitimat BC with the lovely ladies from the Kitimat BC Quilters Guild- so much fun to make!

Back of the quilt - black fabric with multiple thread changes, long arm machine quilted making the back look "thread painted". A garden by night?

Hi - I'm a friend and sorority sister of Alison. What colour did you use for the back of the quilt? It would be interested if all your detail work was done in white with a black background and then you would have your night quilt.

I don't quilt but maybe one day...

Just found your website and really love the Reaching for the sun wall panel. I know you posted this in 2015, but do you still have the pattern available. This is gorgeous. My brother was a horticulturist before he retired and would love this one his wall. Please let me know. Debbie
